Through cartridge testing and recycling, Cal Poly’s Graphic Communication Institute (GrCI) and eCycle Group (Opens new window) have pooled knowledge and resources to address two essentially important concerns of the international consumer and commercial community—quality and sustainability.
As the need for cost savings increase, more consumers are choosing less expensive printer cartridges from OEMs and remanufacturers. However, even at lower prices, consumers are expecting the same quality from OEMs and remanufacturers as higher priced cartridges.
To help achieve this, GrCI offers toner testing for dry electrostatic and liquid inkjet toners to help OEMs and remanufactures determine how they rate on quality, and to identify areas where improvements may be necessary. All testing is conducted in Cal Poly’s Substrates, Ink, and Toner Laboratory.
