During your two days with us you will learn all about Lean manufacturing and its direct application to the graphic arts industry. The concepts of Lean will be discussed along with case studies of print industry firms undergoing a Lean transformation. Experiential exercises to engage participants in the learning process are included along with discussion of concepts.
A truly unique feature of this program is our “Dinner on the town” – workshop facilitators will host dinner and facilitate discussions with participants on their specific issues around implementing Lean in their businesses. October 22 (Thursday): The program runs from Noon to 5 p.m. and includes a dinner with the workshop presenters beginning at 7 p.m. at a local restaurant.
October 23 (Friday): The program will begin at 8 a.m. and close with lunch by 1 p.m.
This format allows participants to fly in to San Luis Obispo Thursday morning and be back home by Friday evening.

Kevin Cooper

Kevin Cooper is a professor in the Graphic Communication department at Cal Poly State University, where his instruction focuses on strategic management and other business issues related to the printing industry.
A former executive with both RR Donnelley and Microsoft, Cooper spent nearly twenty years in the printing industry before returning to Cal Poly in 2000. In addition to his role as a professor in the Graphic Communication department, he engages in consulting activities focused on lean manufacturing implementations.
Cooper is a 1980 graduate of Cal Poly’s College of Business, and obtained his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Southern California in 1990.
